The County Probate Cases Collection consists of approximately 2,100 cases heard by the Probate Court between May 1893 and September 1908, and 144 sets of probate vouchers that range from 1901 to 1913, and 1965 to 1967. Each case includes those papers filed with the court as part of the proceedings. Files may include wills, detailed lists of property, collections of claims by creditors, and various legal papers. Files may provide extensive information about the decedent, about costs for the period, and about the operation of a farm, business, or profession. This collection does not include all cases heard by the Probate Court in the period 1893 to 1908; there are a number of gaps and missing cases.

The Oaths of Office consist of 219 oaths taken by county elected and appointed officials, copies of notices of appointment and revocations of appointments, and copies of bonds posted for the period 1850 to 1854. It also includes copies of official announcements of election results for county offices. Office holders include Recorders, Assessors, Sheriffs, Notaries, Judges, District Attorneys, Justices of the Peace, Constables, Commissioners, Public Administrators, Surveyors, Treasurers, Tax Collectors, and bonded individuals.
Each entry includes the name of the oath taker, the office they are taking an oath for, the date of the oath, page number and notes. You may search the oaths using the index below. The Clerk-Recorder's General Index indexes all property records (deeds, mortgages, chattel mortgages, land patents, homesteads, etc.) This index exists from all property records from 1850 to present. This online database includes entries from the General Index ranging from 1856 to 1866. This database will be continuously updated.
Each entry includes the grantor (property seller), grantee (property buyer), date transaction was recorded, type of record (deed, mortgage, homestead, etc.), and book and page number. The original property record can be viewed at the Clerk-Recorder's Office or the Archives. The Register of Dentists consists of 94 registrations from 1903 to 1922. These registrations show dentists who were allowed to practice dentistry in the state of California and who registered in the County of Santa Clara.

he Henry B. and Raymond W. Fisher Survey Collection consists of approximately 1,700 surveys made by Henry B. Fisher and by his son, Raymond W. Fisher, from the 1890s until the 1960s, primarily in Santa Clara County. The surveys are of private property, both rural and urban, and typically include one or more maps or drawings and pages of calculations and/or written descriptions of property boundaries. Many surveys are plans for subdivisions in Santa Clara County, and the collection also includes many plans for capital improvements such as sewer systems and roads improvements.
